Some people just like moving along at a slow pace. Call it walking with a quad. Others, however, like to get things moving just a tad faster.
In other words, they want to race.
So what do you need to race around in a quad? Well, you require power for sure. Comfort, too: After all, that makes a difference in performance. And finally, you want something that looks the part.
Said another way, if you're going to race around on a quad it should look capable of playing the part.
So without further ado, take a look at ExtremeProSports.com's 2008 top racing quads.
2008 Yamaha Raptor 700R: If you're buying a sport ATV, that means you want a vehicle that can handle woods, deserts, everything. And that's exactly what the 2008 Yamaha Raptor 700R can do! Here's why:
First, there's the 686cc fuel injected engine. Which, by the way, makes this the most powerful sport ATV that Yamaha has ever put out. Then there's the new piggyback front shocks with high and low speed compression adjustment. And finally, there's the long travel suspension (9.1 inches in the front and 10.1 inches in the rear).
Once you look the Raptor up you're going to to want to get out and race.
2008 YFZ 450:Starting things off, there's the 449cc liquid-cooled, DOHC four-stroke with five titanium valves. Then there's the fact that this puppy is very, very light, giving the YFZ 450 the best power to weight ratio of any sport ATV ever produced.
Actually that's the main selling point for the YFZ 450. Not a bad one, huh?
2008 Kawasaki KFX 700: The KFX 700 has a liquid-cooled, 697cc, four-stroke, 90-degree V-twin engine and continuously variable automatic transmission. Further, it handles well and has been a favorite for some time now amongst sports racing ATV riders.
So we had to put in on the list.
2008 Kawasaki Teryx 750: So, here's the scoop. The 2008 Kawasaki Teryx 750 has changed a lot. In other words, it's now more about recreation and moving around than anything else. Along with this, it has a 749cc 90 degree V-twin engine.
Just as interesting as the go with the new Teryx, perhaps, is the stop. By that we mean that the front brakes are tucked into the wheels in order to protect them from the wear and tear that can come when riding (ex. debris).
In the end, the 2008 Kawasaki Teryx is smooth, quick, and well- equipped with comfortable bucket seats. A great ride!
2008 Honda TRX700XX: The Honda TRX700XX utilizes a fuel- injected 686cc engine with crazy torque. Simply put, this new Sport ATV is as redefining as they come. We're talking about 11 inch diameter rear rims with removable mud scrapers, double wishbone independent rear suspension with tuned sway- bar, piggy back rear shocks and dual spring front shocks.
Beyond that, it has a gear-driven counterbalancer that serves to minimize engine vibration for smooth, comfortable all-day riding. And it also looks as aggressive as they come.
Said another way, the 2008 Honda TRX700XX is powerful and comfortable. What else could you ask for?
2008 Honda TRX450R: We could try and get all technical. But if you really want to talk racing then here's the thing: the Honda TRX450R has won all types of races. That, my friends, should mean something in an article like this.
It's light, has a great engine 4 stroke liquid cooled single cylinder engine, and is proven. Further, you can now get it in black/ blue.
Enough said!
2008 Yamaha Wolverine 450 4x4: The 2008 YamahaWolverine 450 has a 4- stroke, SOHC, 2- valve engine. The displacement is 421cc. Great, we got that out of the way. Now here's the thing:
People just love riding this bad boy!
It's lightweight and has a sport-tuned front (independent double wishbone, 5-way preload-adjustable shocks) and rear suspension(swingarm, 5-way preload-adjustable).
In the end, take a look- see for yourself. The Yamaha Wolverine is a good one.
2008 Suzuki QuadRacer R450: The 2008 Suzuki QuadRacer 450 is powered by a four-stroke, single cylinder, fuel injected, liquid cooled, DOHC, four valve engine. It's compact, lightweight, and gets you going.
Further, the new QuadRacer has an improved countershaft for better gear- shift feel. Besides, it's called a QuadRacer.
Can't really come up with a better name for racing than that, can you?
